As a little girl, one of my favorite holiday and potluck treats were the saucy little sausages served on toothpicks. Meaty with a sweet but tangy taste, I couldn’t get enough of them. However, they seemed to vanish from the holiday circle of treats just as I was old enough to learn their delicious secrets.Well no more! Finally, and for all to enjoy, Smoked Sausage Appetizers, the cutest and most delectable little dog out there.
- 3/4 cup jelly (any of your preference really)
- 3/4 cup BBQ sauce
- 3 Tbsp mustard
- 2 packages small smoked sausages, drained
1.) In a large saucepan, combine first three ingredients. Cook, uncovered, over medium heat for 15-20 minutes or until jelly is melted and texture is smooth, stirring occasionally.
2.) Add sausages, stir, and coat. Cover sausages and cook 6-7 minutes longer or until heated through, stirring occasionally. Serve with toothpicks.
